.video.

Untitled from Vilma Hang on Vimeo.

This is a video that I made for my photgraphingcourse. First we had to do just a short video, so we learn how to do them and after that we made longer videos such as this one.

I don't have MovieMaker on my computer, so I didn't make the first video. After all I know how to use it, so I think it wasn't so necessary fo me. I wasn't forced to do the second one either, but I had very strong inspiration for this one, so I took my sister's computer and made this with it.

It took about 4,5 hours for me, but I think it was worth it. Making this was pretty fun, but also exhausted, 'cause you had to make the music and the pictures in right places. And I always had to start the video from beginning when I made changes, 'cause otherwise it played the music in wrong place. Well now I know how the song goes :D

I haven't yet showed this in course, but I hope they (and you guys also) will like!

And I know that you have already seen most of the pictures, but I think this is funnier way to see them :D

.it's all clear now.

Now when I have had my new camera for a while, I can tell you some differences between my new (Canon eos 60D) and my old camera (Canon eos 450D).
Photobucket
For me the biggest change has been the size. My old camera weighed 475g +lens 405g and the new one is 755g +lens. I've already got my wrists hurt, but still I think that bigger size is a good thing. My hands aren't enourmously big, but still 450D was little bit too small and light for me. I couldn't really have a proper grab from it and sometimes my pictures were blurry 'cause of that.
It might get annoying to carry this over 1kg camera on your neck all the time, but at least you'll gain some muscles ;)
Photobucket
The normal settings are very similar in both of the cameras, which wasn't a suprise since they both are Canons. But there is much more settings in the new one - biggest change is video, which I'm not so interested in, but still I'm going to learn it! And of course quality of the pictures is much better and there is wider variety in different settings for example ISO-sensitivity is now up to 12 800.
Canon 60D is also much faster than 450D, I even bought a new, faster memory card for it! This is a thing that I'm very glad about, 'cause I'm shooting a lot in different kind of events where speed is important.
Photobucket
I bought my camera from Anttila and it cost 1100 euros with Canon 18-55 lens. (The lens is for my sister 'cause she bought my old camera and didn't have any lenses.) I'm paying little under 100 euros per month so after 11 months the camera will officially be mine!
I don't think that the camera was so expensive,'cause I'll use it so much and I'm not buying new one for a while. For me it's really important that I have bought the camera by myself, 'cause then I think I can appreciate it a lot better.

PS. In pictures you can see my old and the new camera. And I want you to remember that this is written by my own experience so you can disagree if you want :)

.my way to pro.

There's little sneak peak for you from my job that I had on Friday 17.2.2012. I made almost 2000 photos and some of them are still waiting for editing, so I decided to post this in three parts. In this part I'm telling you about the job and then in couple next one you'll see more about the pictures.

So I was filming our school's traditional second year student's dance ball. One girl who was planning the ball asked me to make pictures in there since she knew I'm photographing a lot - and as you can see I said yes! I was so happy about that I got my first job (even I wasn't paid to do these).

My day started at 9.15 when Siiri (other photographer) and I made the studio ready for the pare's pictures and I think it was 10.30 when they started dancing. At first I was filming at our school's gym class for an hour, when students were dancing for secondary school's students.
Somehow I got my memorycard out of my camera when I was making the photos so half of them disappeared. But otherwise first round went well.

After first show we started making the studio pictures. In the studio I was taking the pictures and Siiri made the paperworks. It was little challenging for me when girls were wearing big dresses and our studio's background is quite small and ripped already. I just hope that the pictures were fine after all that work.
I didn't really have the time to go eat, but luckily I was prepared for that and I had my lunch with me. It was also hot in the studio 'cause of the lights, so I was happy I had some coca cola with me.

After studio the second show started at one o'clock and lasted about an hour also. This time we had our high school's students for an audience. Most of them had already left home, which was nice 'cause then I had more space to move. I didn't have any problems on second show and I also made some quite nice photos.

This job just made my dreams more clear - photographing is the job I want to do when I'm grownup. But it also showed me that I have lot of job left and I really have to practice more. And now I have at least some knowledge what this job would include and it is not only that when you go there and make the pictures - you also have lot of job after it when you are editing the pictures.

I was also very stressed about this job, 'cause I was scared if I'll mess it all up, then all the dancers would be so mad. Well I still don't know how they liked the pictures but at least I like them and I made my best. I hope I'll have this kind of opportunities also later on!

.candy rains and trucks.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
These photos are taken on last Thursday when high school's 3rd grade students celebrated their last day in high school. They all were dressed in funny costumes and then they threw us some candy from top of the trucks.
I wasn't so happy with most of my pictures but there you have couple ones that were okay.

.studio exchange.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
I was practicing in our school's studio on Wednesday, 'cause I didn't want to mess up my photographing job on Friday (yeah I'm sorry I'm a bit slow to post). This was my very first time in a studio and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. And actually I'm quite happy with the pictures. I'm little annoyed that they are so different from each others. But I just couldn't help myself when I started editing these, haha.

PhotobucketPhotobucket The last photo is my personal favourite. What's your favourite ones?

This week I heard that I was accepted as an exchange student! So on August I'm going to leave to England and stay there for 10 months. I think there's no need to tell you how happy I am at the moment :) So this last picture was supposed to be telling you about how excited I am, haha.

.my new lover.

WHIPPEEE! As you can see mu new camera came today! My dad got textmessage at midday, but didn't told about it to me. So when he came home at 7 o'clock it was total suprise for me that he had my camera - since it wasn't supposed to be here till Tuesday.

But now starts my life as a poor person, 'cause I have to pay some money from the camera once a month, so after an year it will officially be my!

I'll tell you more about it when I'm used to use it, haha. Wish me luck for my first real photographing job, which I'm having tomorrow! Oh I'm so nervous, that I'm not sure if can sleep...
